I read the first and last books. I really disliked the first but gave the last one and the author another chance. Nope. In the first, it’s mentioned over and over how awful Hal was to the h growing up- the word “torture” was even mentioned several times by her brother. She hates Hal until suddenly, the childish pranks are funny and no longer worth being mad about? And after he turns her bakery upside down behind her back over and over so much that she decides to get out of the business, she launches herself at him for a kiss then a quickie in his office? Oh, heck no. Her immaturity and his, and her brother’s was grating. Hal’s manipulation of her was not attractive. I can’t imagine anyone wanting to be treated by that lack of respect. Her rage was also unattractive. She would just rage and bluster at him while he smirked. And he liked getting her mad and riled up. Nope. I’m so sick of authors creating an a$$hole then we’re supposed to overlook that because they’re handsome and rich? Please stop treating your readers this way! It’s not okay for guys to act this way and we don’t find it attractive. That’s not a healthy relationship and it shouldn’t be presented as such. In the third book, there’s a bunch of ow drama and once again stupid pranks that are really mean spirited. The h once again gets enraged at the H over and over and she’s constantly falling or getting covered in substances or having humiliations. I wasn’t sure if these things we meant to be funny but i wasn’t laughing. And he later admits to being a serial womanizer because he secretly liked her all along and was comparing women to her?? Or it was okay that he was caught cheating with a friend’s GF and then again with the same woman after the friend forgave her and they got engaged because the guy went on and married someone better? That didn’t make it ok. And the editing was poor - please learn the difference between worse and worst and use them properly (they were reversed over and over) or stirred and steered, etc. Sorry for the rant but these characters are not likable and the plots are awful. I hope to save another reader from wasting their time. There are too many better and worthy books out there!! One of the worst books I’ve ever wasted my time on... are these 4 and 5 stars paid for? Because I can’t imagine how people liked this book. The first book, the main character h was so immature, and felt that the main hero tried to buy her love. I couldn’t even get myself to read other books in this book. Save your time and read something else.
