Ebook About Shifter and Vampire True Mates story.Alek’s older brother, Justice—the Alpha Zenith—was the first shifter to mate with a vampire in many generations, and it was believed the rare, fated pairing would stop at him. But, it hadn’t. Aleksei ‘Alek’ Volkov was second beta, next in succession to the most powerful shifter in the world. He was proud of his title and he took his duties seriously. It was all he had. Until his true mate literally showed up on his doorstep. While his brother—the overachiever—excelled at having a vampire as a mate, Alek wasn’t that optimistic he would. He wasn’t averse to love, and he’d often thought of how different his life could’ve turned out if he’d ever experienced the emotion. His life was a mess and he’d worn a mask of stability for a majority of that time, only showing his siblings and pack what they needed to see—a strong Volkov alpha. Not the damaged man he was, with a tortured soul and a rogue wolf. Alek dropped his heavy head in his hands. Now, for some reason, I’ve been granted a true vampire mate. And not just any vampire. The intimidating Belleron Liatos. Lord High to the King and the leader of his army.Belleron ‘Bell’ Liatos had come to the states for one reason—his best friend and Vampire King, Chadwick Bentley. He certainly didn’t come to be pounced on by a wolf that could act independently of its master. Not only was his destined cherished a complicated and confused man; but he was also unaware of the powerful presence that lurked in the shadows of his soul. Bell didn’t know he’d be the key to unlocking an exceptional triad that would play a critical role in fulfilling the prophesy. This story DOES NOT contain or even mention MPREG. No multiple pairings. No cliffhangers. Ends with a very HFN. Warning: This book is M/M paranormal: If you DO NOT like alpha men shifting into large wolves, or vampires feeding from their destined beloveds, than this may not be the novel for you.Book Prophesy: Book II: The Bringer of Wrath (The King and Alpha Series 2) Review :
Ok, I really, really, really wanted to love this, but I couldn't. I could not seem to get into Bell and Aleks as a couple. Their relationship was too saccharine at times and just felt flat. Also, while the whole situation with Aleks came as a surprise, it was a twist that I feel was a bit much. Am I to expect that every sequel after this will have a mate who's more powerful than the mates from the ones before? It doesn't make sense to have an ALPHA, and then have his second either equally or more powerful; this makes the story less believable because at that point what purpose does the ALPHA serve? This all killed the pleasure of the book for me and moved this to 3 stars. At this point, it just seems as if AE doesn't know where she wants to go with this and is just plodding along. There didn't seem to be an actual plot/story in this book, as it was more focused on showing how powerful ALEKS can become. I'm still not even sure what the prophecy actually is, as the author didn't even go into a lot of detail about it. A few characters actually know what it is, but the reader does not and is thus unclear what everyone's role really is, and how it all fits together. This is sad, as I've enjoyed many of her works, but I've noticed a significant decline in quality with this book. I hope this does not become a habit, and that the next one in the series is an improvement. One of the things this author is known for is the incredible alpha male characters she writes in her books. They’re powerful, protective, intelligent, insanely hot—and all that without going overboard with their masculinity. Now imagine three of those alphas in a single, formidable shifter…and that’s Alek. But those three are not united, and the severely divided trichotomy is a major hurdle for Alek and Belleron to overcome. Let the wild ride commence…We were first introduced to Alek and Bell in the first book of this series—and yes, I do strongly advise you read that one first for the world background, character introductions, and most importantly Alek and Bell’s unconventional introduction to each other. While after that first meeting you might think things would progress quickly for them that is not what you’ll find…so things do slow down in terms of them pursuing their fated mate bond. That does NOT mean things ease off between them—it actually dials up the tension, sexual and otherwise. And though Bell might seem like he comes across as stubborn and maybe even uncaring of shifter mating ways, it’s really all about respect for him, and supporting one’s partner.Alek is unique in the shifter world, disconnected from his wolf and from the “other one” that inhabits him. But he is the way he is for a reason, connected to the prophecy. Alek is the heart and emotion, while Wolf is the protector—especially when it comes to Bell, and Wrath…well, Wrath is complicated and misunderstood. Though his initial purpose in the world may have been what we’d consider negative, there’s much greater depth to him than even he realizes. If the three of them can ever figure things out between them, oh the power they’d wield. There are quite a few returning supporting characters from the first book, and I love that Farica (Alek’s sister) continues to be shown as a strong and compassionate female character. Alek’s brother Mac has an interesting storyline that seems to begin its development towards the end of this story, and I’m still itching to get his brother Taleb’s story after the teasing from the first book. There is also the introduction of some new characters. There’s of course the baddie of the story who figures prominently for a shorter time than you might expect—but that actually fits well with Alek and Bell’s story since the more important issue is the division within Alek himself that needs to be healed. We are also introduced to a new vampire near the end—one that contributes to that interesting storyline I mentioned regarding Mac.You’re going to find suspense. You’re going to find action. And once Alek and Bell start to figure things out? Cue the heat and passion. If you’re like me, you’re going to LOVE Wrath. I love the way this series is going, and can’t wait for more. That’s 5 stars for Prophesy II: The Bringer of Wrath, an absolute must for M/M paranormal/shifter/vampire romance fans! And yes, this one’s definitely for readers 18+ for adult language and sexual content.
